Hospitality and Liquor Law
Main Text
It certainly seems as though "hospitality" and "law" might be rather incongruous, and it certainly seems that "hospitality law" is an oxymoron, but in Utah, it's more than just interesting terminolgy. Tourism is, without a doubt, significant to the Utah economy; the Utah Office of Tourism reports that one in ten jobs in the state is tourism related; if tourism is viewed as a separate industry, it is the sixth-largest employment sector in the state, behind Trade, Transportation, Utilities; Government; Professional & Business Services; Education & Health Services; and Manufacturing. But hoteliers, restaurants and bars in Utah face unique challenges in light of Utah's involvement in alcohol regulation. Working with the regulatory authorities in connection with alcohol licensure and enforcement issues has become a focus of Lisa A. Marcy's practice, and her expertise in this area and employment, coupled with the firm's expertise in property and criminal law, make us the best choice to work with and for Utah's hospitlity and tourism industries.
